Ok, next time some self-important Republican like McCain gets up and berates "socialized medicine" why don’t we ask him/her why the fuck do they think they are entitled to excellent government health care while millions of other Americans have no coverage whatsoever? How about we get these assholes sign over their benefits to someone who needs the health care and save us all the preachy bullshit.
Here’s some questions to ask:
- Senator X why do you feel you are entitled to excellent government health care yet everyone else deserves to "take their chances" with private insurance if they can get it?
- Are you willing to give up your government health care benefits based on the principles you espouse?
- The United States has the most "privatized health insurance" model of any large western democracy, yet we have the highest number of uninsured people. Why do you think that making our system more privatized would do anything other than make matters worse?
- People like John McCain who have had cancer (but do not enjoy socialized medical benefits) can not even obtain decent coverage under the current private insurance system. Why is it ok to force these millions of Americans into bankruptcy and other hardships simply to keep some insurance companies profitable?
- Why do you believe that socialized medicine a good idea in the military and for politicians but not for anyone else?
